Crooked teeth, crowding, an open bite or jaws that do not close properly are not just an esthetic issue. They affect how you chew, how you speak, how you clean your teeth — and, in the long term, the health of your gums and jaw joint.
At Dental-i we treat the entire dentoskeletal system as a single whole. We plan treatment from the start based on function, the anatomy of your own jaw, and the esthetic result you want. The goal: a smile that works flawlessly for the next 30 years, not a quick "straightening" that will relapse.
When orthodontic treatment is needed
- Crowding (crooked, overlapping teeth)
- Gaps between teeth
- Prognathism or retrognathism
- Crossbite
- Open bite
- Deep bite
- Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction
Types of treatment
Metal braces: the most effective and affordable solution for any disharmony. New generation, smaller and more comfortable.
Ceramic (invisible) braces: white brackets that become almost invisible on the teeth. The same effectiveness as metal braces.
Clear aligners (Invisalign): a series of invisible precision aligners. They are removed for eating and brushing. Digital scanning and digital planning.
Lingual braces: placed on the inner side of the teeth. Completely invisible from the outside.
Functional appliances for children: at ages 7-12 we guide the growth of the jaw, avoiding more complex treatments later.
How we work at Dental-i
Diagnosis: digital panoramic and cephalometric X-rays, a 3D scan of the teeth (no impression material), clinical examination. We discuss goals and alternatives.
Treatment planning: a digital simulation of the result before treatment begins. You see exactly the before and after.
Follow-up: checkups every 4-6 weeks (braces), 8-12 weeks (aligners). Electronic reminders.
Retention: after treatment we place retainers (fixed or removable) so that the result holds.
How long it takes
- Clear aligners in mild cases: 6-12 months
- Traditional orthodontics in adults: 18-24 months
- Complex cases: 24-36 months
The exact time is estimated after diagnosis.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much do braces hurt?
They don’t hurt. There is some sensitivity for 3-5 days after placement and after each adjustment, which can be managed with a common painkiller.
Can an adult have orthodontic treatment?
Yes. There is no age limit. More than 30% of our patients today are adults.
How much does orthodontic treatment cost?
It depends on the method, the severity and the duration. We offer payment in monthly installments with no surcharge. Contact us to discuss your case.
Do I need to have teeth extracted for orthodontic treatment?
Not always. In most cases we avoid extractions with modern techniques. In severe crowding it may be necessary.
Will the braces show in photos?
With ceramic braces or clear aligners they are barely visible. Metal braces are visible but much smaller than they used to be.
Can I eat normally?
With braces you avoid hard foods (nuts, ice cubes) and sticky foods (candy, chewing gum). With aligners there are no restrictions at all.
How often will I need to come to the office?
Braces: every 4-6 weeks (15-30 minutes). Aligners: every 8-12 weeks.
